Zine making workshop, collage, drawing and writing. In collaboration with Kolour Thoery and Industry Mag

Week 4, Queer-Lesque
Sunday, 15th Feb
The Green Carnations, The Hot Mess Project and OULGBTQ+Soc are collaborating with T(ART) to put on a queer burlesque workshop! We will be looking at and disrupting the fundamentals of classic burlesque to play with different ways to be sexy, silly, or strange on stage. This includes the art of tease, bumps ‘n’ grinds, costume removal, musicality, physicality and characterisation.

Week 5, Exhibition Workshop
Thursday, 19th Feb
Experimenting with Space: Plastic and Performance Arts. A chance to workshop any art or performances for our 7th week exhibition.

Week 6, Performative Femme Contest
Wednesday 25th November
In collaboration with St Hilda’s Bar
After the success of our Performative Butch Contest: Participants are encouraged to come dressed as a tongue & cheek stereotype of a femme and show off their sapphic skills over several rounds of competition. Folks are also welcome to be part of our judging audience!

An LGBT clubnight, in collaboration with Oxfordshire Drag Collective, featuring Rupaul Queen, Nyongbella.

Week 7, TGC Art Exhibition: Renegade, Release, Rage
Week 7
Alongside the release of our zine, TGC is hosting an arts exhibition, both plastic and performance based, centred on the theme of queer rage.

Week 2, Intro to Punk Fashion/Clothing Alteration
Wednesday, 22th October
If you’ve ever been interested in the subculture, this is an opportunity to play around with designing and stitching patches, as well as trying some basic clothing alterations. We recommend bringing an item of clothing to mess with.

Week 3, Performative Masc/Butch Contest
Tuesday, 28th October
Come dressed as your version of the performative male, masc or butch. The performative man is a person who pretends to or performs certain interests and tailors their self presentation to attract women to date.
Followed by a viewing party of The Watermelon Woman, the first feature film directed by a black lesbian.

Week 4, Open Mic
Friday, 7th November, 7:00-9:00pm
In collaboration with Oscar Wilde Society.
We’re open to a wide range of performances, including: singing/musical performances, poetry, monologues/script recitals, comedy, dance, etc.

Week 5, Drag Makeup & Costume Workshop and Photoshoot
Saturday 15th November 17:00-20:00
In collaboration with the Oxfordshire Drag Collective
A first introduction to getting into drag: we will have both a drag king and queen available to help you experiment with drag makeup. We recommend you bring a costume so that you can experience being in full get-up. Some makeup and costume will be available. Whether you are doing this just for fun, or with the intention to perform at the showcase, we encourage you to come along.
Once you are all dolled up, we will be hosting a photoshoot, with set.

Week 6, Drag Workshop

A workshop for experimenting with drag performance. Will begin with a half hour lecture by drag scholar Em Welton.

Week 7, TGC Amateur Drag Showcase
Friday 28th November 20:30-22:30
The grand finale to term. To celebrate the official release of our printed zine TGC is hosting a drag showcase. New drag kings/queens/ performers will take to the stage to perform a lip-sync in a show hosted by one of ODC’s finest.
If you are interested in doing something other than a lip-sync or something less conventional, please reach out! We’d love to accomodate.
